  1. #                      MICE MAZE GAME DIRECTIONS
  2.  
  3. #OBJECTIVE
  4.  
  5. The objective of Mice Maze is to find and rescue your 
  6. friend the Red Mouse, trapped somewhere in this puzzle
  7. maze.  
  8.  
  9. #GAME PLAY
  10.  
  11. In this adventure strategy game, you will be represented
  12. by the Blue Mouse.  At the start of a new game you will
  13. be put into a puzzle maze which consists of 36 rooms. 
  14. Use the <|Arrow Keys|> to move your mouse about each room.
  15.  
  16. There are mouse doors on the side of the room which will
  17. allow you to exit the room and move into a new one.
  18.  
  19. When you enter a new room, a map will pop up on the game
  20. board to help identify your location.  You can also press
  21. the <|M|>ap key to see the map at anytime during the game.
  22. The present room number is displayed to the right of the 
  23. game board below the picture of the seated mouse.
  24. #STORY LINE
  25.  
  26. Your first objective will be to acquire |10,000| points.
  27. When you reach the 10,000 point mark you will be given
  28. an extra life and also further instructions on how to
  29. find your friend the Red Mouse.  The adventure would not
  30. be an adventure if I told you what twists and turns this
  31. puzzle will take... you'll have to discover that for
  32. yourself.
  33.  
  34. #OBJECTS
  35.  
  36. |CHEESE|:  Your mouse needs cheese for strength, so grab
  37. these whenever you can.  If you run out of cheese the game
  38. will be over no matter how many lives you have left.
  39. Every 20 moves of your mouse or when you exit a room, one  
  40. cheese will be subtracted from your cheese total.
  41.  
  42. |GRILLS|:  These circular grills are immovable and cannot 
  43. be blasted or removed with bombs.
  44.  
  45. |CANS|:  There are green cans located in most of the rooms.
  46. These cans give you extra points if you can reach them.
  47. |CATS|: In each of the rooms, there are cats on the prowl.
  48. The light yellow cats are slower and the purple cats are
  49. much faster.  If you get caught by a cat, you will lose
  50. one life. 
  51.  
  52. |TRAPPING CATS|:  You can eliminate the cats from the room by 
  53. pushing the blocks to surround them.  If you can push the
  54. blocks in such a way as the cat has no where to move, then
  55. it will be removed and a an extra cheese will be placed 
  56. somewhere in the room.  If two cats are trapped together
  57. then they will not be removed.  You must trap them
  58. individually.  Once you leave a room, all the cats you
  59. trapped earlier will reappear again the next time.
  60.  
  61. |BOMBS|:  These bombs are used to blast through the blocks.
  62. To activate a bomb, press the <|SPACE BAR|> and then press
  63. the |Arrow Key| to signify where you want to throw the bomb.
  64.  
  65. |HOLES|:  In many of the rooms there are mouse holes that
  66. you can go into.  Sometimes you'll find extra items like
  67. cheese and bombs, but other times you'll find nothing.
  68. Beware... you can also drop some items when going into
  69. these holes.
  70. #SCORING

  72. CHEESE:  50 POINTS
  73. BOMB:     60 POINTS
  74. CAN:       50 POINTS
  75.  
  76. 1ST TRAPPED CAT:    75 POINTS
  77. 2ND TRAPPED CAT:  150 POINTS
  78. 3RD TRAPPED CAT:  225 POINTS
  79. 4TH TRAPPED CAT:  300 POINTS

  81. EVERY 10,000 POINTS :  EXTRA LIFE

  87. As you play the game you'll find you will be searching for
  88. special keys, hidden doors, secret passageways and much 
  89. more.  Are you up for a challenge?  Go to it and see if
  90. you can rescue your friend... he's/she's counting on you!
